Policy regarding Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs)

Flint Hydraulics, Inc. strives to exceed customer expectations with all our products and services. Occasionally, a customer finds that he must return ordered parts and components. This type of situation is usually the result of a customer finding he no longer needs the component, he ordered incorrectly, or his customer canceled an order.

As a means of expediting the return process, we are providing this webpage to list the steps and rationale of our return policy.

Flint Hydraulics accepts returns that are approved in advance ONLY. If you find yourself needing to return a component you received from us, please contact us to obtain a Return Materials Authorization (RMA).

All returns must be accompanied by a Flint Hydraulics, Inc. RMA. We cannot accept returns without the required paperwork. Contact us to obtain your RMA prior to shipping returned merchandise to us.

A 20% re-stock fee applies to all standard Flint Hydraulics stock items. Once we receive your return, we will issue you a credit for the invoice price of the product less 20% for processing, handling and other associated costs.

However, the stock item must be returned without being mounted or used. The item must be in such condition that it can be resold as "new." The restock fee may be increased if the item is received in poor condition or requires additional processing such as repackaging, painting and testing.

The re-stock fee on a Flint stock item may be waived under special circumstances with management approval (e.g., if the customer ordered incorrectly yet orders the correct replacement item from Flint). In cases when Flint is at fault, the re-stock fee is waived.

Custom-assembled or custom-ordered "non-standard stock" items may or may not be returnable. Each request for a return will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Often with custom-built units, particular details such as unique drilled and ported hose connections along with "break in" testing make the product impossible to disassemble for re-use in another application, or render the parts "used" instead of "new." In such circumstances, we are unable to accept returns or are forced to charge a different rate for restocking.

The re-stock fee will be determined based on a number of criteria (e.g., the amount of salvagable parts if the product requires disassembly, labor for disassembly and processing, vendor re-stock fees, etc.).

All returns must be shipped to Flint Hydraulics with freight charges pre-paid. Collect shipping charges will be deducted from applicable credits.

Items purchased more than one year from the date of the request may not be returned.
